This study evaluated Ascophyllum nodosum supplementation in dairy cows and its impact on milk quality. It significantly increased iodine content and reduced free amino acids while maintaining a stable free fatty acid profile.
Supplementation also shifted the milk microbiota, reducing spoilage-associated bacteria (e.g., Pseudomonas) and increasing beneficial species like Lactococcus strains, suggesting improved hygiene and transformation quality.
